I’ll never forget when I received a Sony Walkman one Christmas. I became obsessed with listening to Jenny Morris and really wanted to be a part of the music somehow.
Dance was how — it made perfect sense!

The human body and mind have always fascinated me, and music truly moves me.

I was privileged enough to take dance lessons from a young age at a very good local ballet school, and it was there that my talent was nurtured, and I was set well on my journey.

Trying to turn dance into a profession without selling out wasn’t easy and honestly, at times, killed the joy. It often contradicted why I chose dance, or should I say “chose me” in the first place. Through trial, error and experience, I decided to just dance for me, and if anyone was watching, they could take it or leave it. It became simpler, and this was
when I started to grow as a dancer.

Stages were no longer in their typical settings — they were everywhere, be it a bedroom, park, bus stop, changing room, or museum. Anywhere with space big or small.
